BHEF Donations to Our Schools in 2008 - 2009
Technology ($600,000) BHEF supports the technology staff of the District as well as the infrastructure to connect the schools to the Municipal Area Network.
Summer Enrichment and Arts Academy ($225,000) BHEF provides a full day summer enrichment program and focused arts academy for five weeks over the summer.
Arts Education ($85,000) BHEF supplements district arts funding for K-12 residency programs, such as the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, the High School accompanist, the Honor Choir, professional development, and visual and performing arts budgets.
Extra-Curricular Enrichment ($50,000) BHEF helps fund teacher stipends and competition fees to assure the sustainability and creation of enrichment opportunities for students at our five schools.
Additional Funding ($30,000)
Ambassador Parent Program - BHEF arranges welcoming tours to prospective families at our schools.
Intramural Sports - BHEF provides a free afterschool sports program for girls and boys in grades 5-8.
Middle School Sports Spectacular - With PTA, BHEF runs a competitive middle school sports day.
Alumni Network - BHEF is creating a database and online community for BHUSD.
High School Counselors - Additional summer hours for new-to-district testing and drop-in counseling.
Endowment Gifts ($23,300) With a $3,000,000 endowment, restricted funds are released to BHHS Performing Arts, Teacher Professional Development, BHHS English Department, K-8 Libraries, Student Scholarships and BHHS athletics.
