THE BHEF STORY
The Beverly Hills Education Foundation (BHEF) was established in 1978 by concerned parents and community leaders as a non-profit corporation (501(c)3). It was created to supplement the funding of the Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) and ensure the continuation of its high-quality educational programs. BHEF has become a national model for other school districts seeking to enhance their educational offerings through community fundraising.

-
Origins:
BHEF emerged from the need to address funding gaps in BHUSD following state-level changes in school funding and the passage of Proposition 13.
-
Early Focus:
The foundation initially aimed to bridge the gap between limited public funding and the community's desire for a world-class education.
-
National Model:
BHEF's success in fundraising and program support has led to its adoption as a model for school districts across the United States.
-
Key Initiatives:
BHEF's initiatives have included supplementing BHUSD resources, developing innovative teaching techniques, and improving general instruction in local public schools.
-
Community Engagement:
The foundation actively involves the community, civic leaders, and businesses to ensure academic, athletic, and artistic excellence in BHUSD.
-
Legacy:
Over the years, BHEF has raised millions of dollars to support vital school needs, including funding for academic programs, athletic facilities, and arts programs.
